Which applications suit aluminum oxide and ceramic filament best?

Update Time:2026/10/28

Aluminum oxide covers stable everyday finishing; ceramic takes over on hard alloys and high-pressure heavy removal.

Both filaments share the same PA612 base and the same diameter and grit ranges, so they can run in the same brush designs. The difference is how the grains behave under load.

Application Recommended filament
General surface finishing on steel and stainless Aluminum oxide - even wear, consistent finish
Edge radiusing before coating or anodising Aluminum oxide - smooth, repeatable edge quality
Light to medium deburring of machined parts Aluminum oxide - stable and cost-effective
Wood sanding and paint prep brushing Aluminum oxide - gentle, uniform action
Deburring hardened steel and hard alloys Ceramic - self-sharpening grains keep cutting
Heavy stock removal in robotic deburring cells Ceramic - long life under continuous high pressure

One line, both filaments

A common setup runs ceramic filament brushes at the aggressive stations and aluminum oxide brushes at the finishing stations. Because diameters and grits match, brush bodies and tooling stay interchangeable.
